Dennis Mustard grew up in Kansas and has made Northern California his home ever since. A graduate of San Francisco State University, he spent much of his career as a software developer working on classified military systems and federal, state, and local government projects.
His professional life, though technical, drew Dennis to storytelling—crafting narratives, diagrams, and presentations that blended logic with creativity. Writing fiction became his way to explore the 'what ifs' that science and life continually present.
When he’s not writing, Dennis enjoys many activities, mostly with his wife, Cheryl, including dinners, theater, travel, cycling, swimming, and hiking the trails near his home. A lifelong dog lover, he delights in teaching dogs to understand words and requests and often cares for a relative’s pup who has adopted him as an honorary pack member.
